About Us
We are a US Fortune 100 company operating globally, in a number of markets across Asia-Pacific and beyond. A significant share of the work that keeps our service running is carried out by people engaged on flexible contractor terms rather than from a desk: they set their own availability, work largely on their own, and may never meet a colleague in person. Communicating well with a population like that is a discipline of its own, and it is the reason this team exists.
The Role
This role owns communications for our contractor workforce in one of our Asia-Pacific markets: a large, dispersed group of people who need accurate information at exactly the right moment and who have no office noticeboard to read it on. You will hold the brief end to end, from the initial thinking through to production, distribution and the report on what it achieved. Your closest working relationships will be with colleagues in operations, support, legal and compliance, and you will lean on generative AI tooling to keep quality high at volume. The position is based in-region within Asia-Pacific.
Responsibilities
Everything we send carries some risk, and part of your job is to see it coming. You will hold all outgoing material to our governance and quality standards, and you will pay particular attention to messages that touch regulatory obligations, safety guidance or anything else where imprecise wording creates exposure. Alongside that sits measurement: you will define what good looks like for each campaign, report on how it actually performed, and use that evidence to argue for what we should do differently next time. You will also own the communications calendar and the standards around contact frequency, which in practice means being the person who says no when a well-intentioned team wants to add one more message to an already busy week.
The rest of the role is planning and production. You will build the programme that carries our contractor population from recruitment through onboarding and into long-term engagement, and you will work with product, operations and compliance colleagues on the messaging around service changes, launches and regulatory updates. Day to day you will write, build, test, schedule and refine campaigns across the channels we use. Generative AI tooling is a normal part of how the team works, and you will help develop the frameworks, templates and internal guidance that let everyone produce good material faster, without the output drifting away from a consistent voice.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for an experienced communications professional who is comfortable owning delivery from first brief to final send, and who can turn dense, complicated subject matter into something people actually read. That usually means several years, roughly three to six, spent in communications, content strategy or marketing communications, with hands-on time in a marketing automation platform and a record of running programmes across more than one channel. Comfort with data matters: you should be able to read campaign metrics and say something useful about what they imply. A completed university degree is part of the profile.
Fluency in Japanese, plus English, both at business level or above, is essential for this role.
Beyond that, a few things would count in your favour without being deal-breakers: practical experience using generative AI or AI-assisted writing tools in a professional communications setting, formal certification in the tooling you work with, a background in operations-heavy consumer businesses, experience communicating organisational or operational change at scale, and any previous exposure to governance or quality assurance work in a communications function.
What We Offer
– Complete ownership of the communications function for a fast-growing part of our business, with a clear line of sight from your work to its effect
– Current AI tooling available as standard, with time and support to build real skill with it
– Ongoing learning built into how the team works, at a pace you set
– All applications considered on merit, regardless of background
We are looking forward to receiving your application!
